Currently based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Reza, dubbed “Rezqoi”, has made his mark as a creative force behind some of Southeast Asia's most compelling advertising campaigns.
Reza’s passion for creative expression began early. A proud member of the University of Indonesia’s Class of 1998, the batch that was heavily involved in the reform movement, he entered a transformative period marked by social and political upheaval.
As a student, Reza joined the student press group Suara Mahasiswa, where he honed his storytelling skills and developed a keen understanding of media as a vehicle for change. His involvement didn’t stop there—Reza was also an active contributor to Bergerak, a student movement pamphlet that amplified critical voices during Indonesia’s reform era.
During his time at the University of Indonesia, Reza also nurtured a passion for photography, capturing the spirit of student life and the vibrant energy of the movement.
This visual storytelling ability laid a foundation for his later work in advertising, where he consistently brings authenticity and narrative depth to every project.
After graduating, Reza plunged into the world of advertising in Indonesia. He joined several leading agencies and built a solid portfolio working on campaigns for local and international brands.
In 2015, Reza made the bold decision to take his talents overseas, moving to Vietnam to explore new opportunities and challenges in a dynamic advertising market. Since then, he has held prominent roles at major agencies, including DDB Tribal Vietnam, BBDO Vietnam (as a freelance digital creative director), and DNA Digital. In these roles, Reza has consistently delivered work that pushes creative boundaries while maintaining a strong sense of cultural relevance.
“Great advertising doesn’t just sell products—it builds connections and tells stories that matter,” he says. “It’s not just about catching attention—it’s about making people feel something real.”
Despite his success abroad, Reza remains deeply connected to his Indonesian roots. He credits his formative years in Indonesia—not just his time at the University of Indonesia but also his early professional experiences in Jakarta’s advertising scene—for giving him a unique lens on creativity and communication.
“Indonesia taught me to listen and observe,” he says. “The culture, the conversations, the energy—these are things I carry with me everywhere I go.”
Rezqoi Reza Ardiansyah is a shining example of Indonesia’s creative diaspora: a talent nurtured in Indonesia’s dynamic cultural and political landscape, who has gone on to make a name for himself in the international advertising scene. He is a testament to the fact that Indonesians abroad don’t just adapt—they thrive, bringing the best of Indonesia’s creativity and spirit to the world.
